The company is an expert in custom market research, both qualitative and quantitative, with a focus in brand-development research. It is solely active in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and operates specialty practices, including Oncology, its largest such practice. Projects cover all phases of the pharmaceutical lifecycle and the company has a strength in pre-launch positioning and communications market research.

Job Purpose:
To bring in new and repeat business
To be the project lead or consultant on research projects
To provide research guidance and mentorship to staff on projects and to be able to manage a team of junior-mid-level researchers
What you be doing:
Deliver an agreed target revenue and agreed turnover of projects by the team
Head up at least one of their foundation accounts and being part of 2-3 other accounts, including expanding business to new therapy areas/ client teams and bringing in repeat business from existing clients
As part of heading up an account: Preparing and leading regular account team meetings and coordinating the account team to ensure the account team hits its account target
As part of being an account team member: Participating in regular account team meetings and meeting quarterly set business objectives
Taking the lead in preparing and delivering client RFI and pitches
Taking the lead in coordinating and delivering proposals and costs
Promoting the unique services of the company internationally, at congresses and directly when interacting with client contacts
Deliver high quality research projects in line with the brand essence of the company
Ensure high quality, excellent client service and innovative methodologies that the company is renowned for are being delivered on every project
Ensure that all work, including the supervision of material development, moderation/ fieldwork, analysis and writing of reports and presentations, is undertaken to the highest standard
Monitor to ensure the project meets agreed milestones in a timely fashion
Ensure all projects obtain high customer satisfaction scores
Ensure the successful implementation of TPS research methodologies:
Become an expert on the company’s innovative and proprietary methodologies
Work closely with the Innovation team to pitch and trial new approaches successfully
Work closely with the Innovation team to guide the development of new methodologies
Pro-actively involve those in the company, who are experts/ specialists in areas that you are who can contribute to the success of the project (e.g. KOL research, Quant Research, Patient Research etc.)
Guide, support, teach and mentor staff on projects to enable them to grow and achieve their career goals
Provide appropriate directing, coaching, supporting and delegation, tailored to the project team’s skill level
Provide this support to the project teams on all aspects of the projects, from design, fielding, analysis to reporting
Be a go-to-resource for any questions
Provide opportunities for growth to the project teams to encourage learning and development
Provide timely feedback and recognition to the project team throughout the project
Effectively manage/ co-manage and develop a team of researchers:
Manage/ co-manage a team of market research directors, managers and executives
Effectively use the Company’s PDR process to motivate and develop individuals and help them achieve their goals on your and other director’s projects
Create a sense of cohesion and belonging in the team with regular team meetings and get-togethers, where the team can share successes and challenges
Advise and support Global Operations in the resourcing of research projects:
Regularly meet with Global Operations to provide input on all resource capability, utilisation and availability
Maximise resource availability in the team consistent with quality standards of delivery
Other:
Actively participate in the short, medium and long-term development of the organisation, the business and the resources of the organization through the EU director’s meetings
Why you should apply:
A minimum of 8 years’ experience working in a market research agency with at least 5 years focused on the pharmaceutical industry
Therapy area experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage: women’s health, CV, immunology, dermatology and vaccines
Client-side experience an advantage
An expert in ad-hoc qualitative market research methodologies (additional experience in quantitative market research techniques would be a bonus)
Experience managing a team of at least 3-4 team members
Extras:
Ability to bring in own business (£1 million in 1st year, £2 million in 2nd year) would allow the candidate to be eligible for RD / BD role
