About the company

Our Higher Education client in Middlesex is currently looking to recruit a REF Support Manager to join the Library’s Scholarly Communication and Rights Management Team to support the REF2021 submission and audit process, ensuring that it meets the outputs compliance criteria requirements of the UKRI REF Open Access Policy and REF guidance. . This is a Fixed Term Contract of 2 years.

What you’ll be doing

The post-holder will work within the Scholarly Communication and Rights Management Team supporting researchers submitting outputs for the REF exercise. You will support the REF submission ensuring requirements are met for research outputs, especially but not only Open Access versions in relation to deposit, access and discoverability criteria, as specified in the REF 2021 documentation.

The role will involve developing and managing processes to track REF Open Access policy compliance to support output eligibility verification whilst improving and monitoring workflows.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Experience of REF Open Access requirements

  • Familiarity of REF and the scholarly communications process

  • Knowledge of the digital information environment

  • Experience of using complex databases and extracting and understanding data

  • Experience of writing reports

  • Experience of supervising staff

  • Project Management experience
