£17.98 per hour

About the company

We are presently recruiting for a
Temporary REF Assistant for our Academic client in London, to assist the
Scholarly Communications Team, in the preparation of the Research Excellence
Framework (REF) submission by ensuring that each submitted output record
complies with the required bibliographic requirements

Ideally you will need a background in
cataloguing/metadata management, and any experience of CRIS would be an
advantage, but not essential.

Key
skills:

•        
To verify the bibliographic details, in line with the REF metadata
requirements, of the outputs selected to be submitted to the REF, using
Symplectic Elements

•        
To use publisher’s websites to verify metadata where it is missing or
inaccurate in Symplectic Elements records

•        
To confirm DOIs and URLs in Symplectic Elements records are correct

•        
To download and store PDFs of outputs where required

•        
To verify dates of acceptance and publication for the selected outputs

•        
To liaise with the Library Services Open Access Team and ICT REF
manager to resolve queries

Why you will be hired

Experience in editing metadata records

Experience of working with a research information system and/or
repository

Familiarity with online journal article structure and publisher
websites

Familiarity with research output metadata

•        
Fine attention to detail

•        
Good interpersonal skills to deal proactively with ICT staff and REF
