ARE YOU UP FOR A CHALLENGE?

Having relocated to new East London offices in the heart of the Olympic village with roof top terrace and on-site café, our client is looking to recruit a Project Librarian to set up their new library space. In their previous office, the library was a collection of books and resources on an open shelf but was not set up in an organised manner and thus discouraged anyone from using the materials available.

The new library area is set in a separate space off the main office floor, with one wall full of shelves and room for some more if needed (picture available on request). There is a sofa, chairs and coffee table for comfort whilst using the library, hopefully encouraging staff and visitors to use the library and its resources.

There are about 2,000 books (though some weeding/disposal may be required) which need cataloguing and re-shelving along with a number of journals, reports and files, although most of them are now accessible online.

The client has a subscription to Soutron and is ideally looking for guidance on how best to use it.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of working in a Library and know how to make the best of the knowledge provided, ensuring it is user friendly for all of those who visit and use it.

Cataloguing / Metadata experience is essential along with a can-do attitude to work with the client in creating their new library space

You will also support the internal team in their future use of the library resource
