Operational Manager – Libraries & Culture

Enhanced DBS (DBS only could be considered)

Based: Slough

Salary: £20.00-23.00 per hour

Hours: 37 Per week (flexible working)

About the company

This is an exciting time to join our client who is passionate about offering the best front-line support services to the community. This newly created role seeks to deliver high quality and relevant services to meet the needs of the local community with a focus on a wider outreach program and neighbourhood services.

What you will be doing

As a member of the senior management team you will inspire, deliver and direct a customer focused service across facilities including The Curve along with a variety of satellite community hubs

You will hold full responsibility for the operational delivery of Community Libraries, Hubs and The Curve to ensure the safe and effective management including development and implementation of key service wide policies and procedures

  • Working with the Library Cultural Managers, you will create develop and embed national Universal Offers in the core services
  • Lead and manage performance management and monitoring these by creating and managing reporting systems
  • Oversee the development and delivery of IT systems, stock and resources
  • Responsible for the delivery of a Home Library Service to meet customer needs especially focused around children and young people, outreach services
  • To support and deliver a volunteer strategy across the service
  • Lead the Customer Experience, undertaking research with users and partners to identify and deliver improvements
  • Responsible to deliver the IT and Library Management systems to support libraries and embedded technology and the use of it with front line services
  • Manage budget and resources and the allocation of these
  • Responsibility for all Data and performance related matters, ensuring robust compliance, planning and review.

Who you will be

  • A relevant Library or Cultural Degree of equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development
  • Extensive experience delivering operational and library and cultural services
  • Highly effective in working sucessfully with internal and external partners
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating performance
  • Budget, allocation and resource management experience
  • Ability to set SMART objectives, plan, manage and lead projects to meet deadlines
  • Ability to deliver and manage effective use of IT and digital services
