Our client provides technical standards on products and services to businesses within the UK whilst also operating globally to help improve performance, reduce risk and achieve sustainable growth. They are presently recruiting for an Information Specialist to join their newly established team to conduct both primary and secondary research for a range of internal and external government and private sector clients.

What you’ll be doing

The role is to support the delivery of a large and complex international standards landscape mapping programme to ensure standards align to an organisations requirement. This would then provide the client with a tailored, factual analysis of the landscape, relevant to a specific sector.

The RI Team (Research and Intelligence) has access to a variety of Information resources which include industry research reports, legislation and policy documents and databases. To gain a deeper understanding of specifics, you will:

Main responsibilities

  • Read and disseminate information from relevant search reports and policy documents
  • Highlight the main points and extract key findings
  • Extract keywords and categorise into sectors or topics with a view to creating segmentation of the sector (Metadata)
  • Conduct keyword searches to identify relevant standards to the sector in question
  • Facilitate the analysis process
  • Verify the keyword results are fit for purpose and are accurate
  • Conduct standards searches and arrange results in a systematic way based on the classification system represented
  • Analyse the landscape results to provide an insight into how that will impact the client’s needs
  • Format results supported by graphs, charts and infographics
  • Format the results into bibliographical data

To be considered for this role you will require:

Essential

  • Professional qualification in Information or Research Services advantageous
  • Experience of delivering complex research projects
  • Experience of data analysis, bibliographic database and internet searches
  • Data analytics / research experience
  • Identifying process and service improvements
  • Ability to provide research results in visual format
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal, Written and Formal)
  • String attention to detail
  • IT Literate
