A South East London-based University looking to recruit a motivated and disciplined cataloguer to work with a new Special Collection

What you'll be doing

This is a one month temporary assignment reporting to the Assistant Librarian. You will be responsible for cataloguing and classifying a collection of books on Balkan History which are in English, Serbo-Croat, French and Italian using AACR2, RDA, MARC21 and Library of Congress Subject Headings. You will be checking and editing existing catalogue records and classifying books and other materials using DDC21

Why you’ll be hired

To be successful in applying for this position you will be educated to degree level and preferably have a library or Information Science qualification. You will also have experience of online cataloguing using AACR2, RDA and MARC standards and familiarity with Dewey Decimal Classification and Library of Congress Subject Headings. The client requires you to have catalogued in any language that isn't your native tongue.
