Lawraine Wood
Consultant, Trainer
Lawraine worked as a librarian for 18 years, in the public, academic and special library fields. She clocked up 5 years as a lecturer in library and information management, then set up her own training and consultancy business in 1997. The main focus for training is in library and information management, and personal development. She has been part of the team providing training for the MLA-funded "Rising Stars" leadership programme, now in its sixth year. Lawraine continues to work as a part-time lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. For Sue Hill, Lawraine acts as a representative in the North of England and Scotland, conducts candidate interviews in various locations outside London and runs our graduate recruitment programme.
Lawraine has taken an active interest in professional matters, being a committee member of various professional bodies since 1986, and has published in the professional press. She is especially interested in developing people's confidence and helping them to reach their potential. She has been instrumental in running training courses in this area for us (as well as her own consultancy) in the North West.
In her rare quiet moments, Lawraine likes travelling, walking (a good thing, given the unreliability of public transport!) and is a dedicated member of the Crossfit Manchester gym. |
