Chris Crabtree
Consultant
Chris Crabtree comes from a background that encompassed a work in a variety of library and information environments, including workplace libraries, academic libraries and public libraries. She has also represented companies providing library supply services in the Midlands.
Chris Crabtree now runs the Midlands office of Sue Hill Recruitment, together with Margaret Brittin. The office opened in 2000 after market research showed a potential need for a recruitment service based in the area, with specialist knowledge of the Midlands market. Since then she and Margaret have been actively marketing the service in the Midlands by recruiting high calibre candidates and by undertaking a programme of visits to clients. We are now placing candidates in a wide range of jobs in libraries in the area – in further and higher education, workplace units, charities and the NHS, to name a few.
Chris is also a partner with Margaret Brittin in Information Unlimited, an information consultancy set up in 1989 in the Midlands. They have undertaken a variety of consultancy work in the library and information world, including information audits, customer satisfaction surveys, database compilation and training. Chris and Margaret are also responsible for setting up SLIM (Special Librarians in the Midlands), an informal networking group.
Her interests include hill walking (she is slowly ticking off the Scottish Munros), collecting glass candlesticks, shaving mugs and sheep (the china or painted variety, not the real thing!).
