About the company

A prestigious university in central London is seeking a Metadata Assistant to join them on a contract until Mid-December initially.


What you'll be doing

In this metadata job you will focus on checking and updating metadata for research publications within the institutional repository. Part of your role will also include responding to enquiries from Researchers about their publication records and providing advice and assistance.

Your responsibilities in this role include: checking, verifying and correcting publication metadata within the institutional repository, ensuring accurate and consistent application of metadata standards. This includes removing duplicated data, populating missing data, and appending added value information, then checking and ensuring that publications produced by Researchers are correctly licensed and compliant. The role will also involve an element of advocacy, so you will need to be comfortable communicating with academics.


Why you’ll be hired

To be successful in this role you will have excellent attention to detail and demonstrably good communication skills. You will ideally have some experience of Open Access or a keen interest in developing your experience in this area of information.
