About the company

Professional body in central London wants a part-time Administrator to work Wednesdays to Fridays (21 hours) on a contract until mid-April 2018.

Based in a fantastic central London location you will be joining a professional library team which supports the organisation and large membership through the provision of a multi-disciplinary service.

What you'll be doing

The Library Administrator will focus on three key activities: working on the enquiry desk (on a rota basis); organising meetings and general administration; supporting an ongoing project to document and celebrate the lives of the organisation's members (which will involve press scanning, tracking editorial work using spreadsheets and writing copy). The administration work will centre around organising committee meetings and checking diaries (using Outlook shared calendars), as well as ensuring stationery supplies and office equipment are topped up. Working on the enquiry desk will mean responding to enquiries not just about library matters but also about the wider organisation.

Why you’ll be hired

We are looking for an administrator with proven attention to detail, demonstrably good communication skills (written and verbal) and experience answering enquiries. A passion for providing excellent customer service is welcomed. You will have gained your experience in an administrative role (possibly in an office environment) and will demonstrate competency in MS Office. An interest in libraries and archives would be advantageous.

Why you should apply

If you enjoy working in a professional and dedicated team, this admin job is for you. It is an opportunity to use your IT and organisational skills to support your colleagues and the members of the organisation. The building is located in the West End, close to two tube stations offering four different lines and also very pleasant surroundings, affording you plenty of opportunity for lovely lunchtime walks. Best of all, you will receive free lunch every day - and it is very highly rated by the staff.

The role is part-time, working 21 hours each week, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Closing date for applications is 20 July, with interviews on 10 August. The starting salary is £22,500 FTE.
