About the company

A University based in London is seeking an Information Skills Specialist to join the library team on a contract basis for 3 months initially, to assist them during a busy summer period.

What you'll be doing

This Information Skills and Development Specialist job will sit within the library and learning skills team and will be responsible for designing and delivering subject and study skills support to students as well as being the main liaison contact for the team. You will be working with members of the team to develop online and offline support materials to be delivered via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Moodle. You will be delivering these literacy and skills training sessions to classes, via workshops and one-to-one sessions. You will be working as the main liaison between academic staff and responsible for ensuring that information and digital literacy is embedded into the programmes. You will also collaborate with the academic team on collection management and development. As this is a busy period for the library you may be required to assist with ad-hoc projects working closely with senior management.

Why you’ll be hired

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience of working in a similar library job as an academic support/subject librarian. You will have experience of delivering teaching and training sessions to students. Experience within an academic library is required for this.
