About the company

Full-time temporary Cataloguing Archivist job for a duration of four months in a respected charitable institute.

What you'll be doing

You'll be working on a couple of different collections that contain a quantity of born digital records. Experience of working with digital material in an archival cataloguing role is needed. You'll be appraising, sorting, arranging and cataloguing selected archives, ensuring data quality in accordance with in-house specifications, national and international standards. Some work will be done on rehousing archive records in preservation-quality materials and will mean liaising and working with their conservators.

Why you’ll be hired

To be successful in this cataloguing archives job you will have experience of integrating uncatalogued material in to an existing archive structure, along with appraisal and selection skills. Knowledge and experience of archival descriptive standards including ISAD(G), ISAAR, and the use of authority files and subject indexes such as LCSH and MeSH are also required. Experience of using CALM for archives management is very much desired.
